Head of the American 2023

Oakland celebrated a fast day of racing at Head of the American on October 28th. Racing on Lake Natoma, the site of our spring Regional Championships, athletes had the opportunity to race crews from throughout California.

2023 Youth National Championships

Oakland Strokes competed at the Youth National Championships June 8-11th in Sarasota, Florida. Athletes had the opportunity to race some of the fastest crews from across the country. Oakland traveled 8 boats to race at Youth Nationals: Women’s 4 -, 4x, U17 8+ and U16 8+ as well as Men’s V8+, 2V8+, 4x and U17 2x. Athletes raced hard with 5 boats making it to the grand finals on Sunday.

2023 Southwest Regional Championships

Oakland Strokes competed at the Southwest Regional Championships May 4-7th. As the last regular season regatta, athletes had the chance to race crews from throughout the entire region. The team raced hard throughout the 3 day regatta, qualifying multiple boats for the Youth National Championships.

Oakland Strokes traveled down to sunny San Diego last weekend to compete at the 50th annual San Diego Crew Classic. Athletes raced in heats and finals throughout the weekend against some of the fastest teams in the country.

Oakland Strokes celebrated a great day of racing last weekend at the Head of the American. The race was held at Lake Natoma, on the same racecourse as our spring regional championships in May. The team showed its strength with the a full squad participation leading to a great showing across the board.

Head of the Charles 2022

Strokes Admin

Oakland Strokes competed again on October 23rd at the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, MA. The Head of the Charles is the largest three-day rowing regatta in the world, attracting youth, collegiate and masters athletes, as well as World Champions and even Olympians. More than 11,000 athletes from around the world compete in 55 different race events.
