Oakland Strokes competed at the Youth National Championships June 8-11th in Sarasota, Florida. Athletes had the opportunity to race some of the fastest crews from across the country. Oakland traveled 8 boats to race at Youth Nationals: Women’s 4 -, 4x, U17 8+ and U16 8+ as well as Men’s V8+, 2V8+, 4x and U17 2x. Athletes raced hard with 5 boats making it to the grand finals on Sunday.

Oakland Strokes competed at the Southwest Regional Championships May 4-7th. As the last regular season regatta, athletes had the chance to race crews from throughout the entire region. The team raced hard throughout the 3 day regatta, qualifying multiple boats for the Youth National Championships.

Oakland Strokes competed again on October 23rd at the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, MA. The Head of the Charles is the largest three-day rowing regatta in the world, attracting youth, collegiate and masters athletes, as well as World Champions and even Olympians. More than 11,000 athletes from around the world compete in 55 different race events.
