2023 Youth National Championships

Strokes Admin

Oakland Strokes competed at the Youth National Championships June 8-11th in Sarasota, Florida. Athletes had the opportunity to race some of the fastest crews from across the country. The regatta was held in championship format, meaning racing began with time trials, where crews raced for a spot in a A/B Semifinal, and further for a spot in a A, B or C final.

Oakland traveled 8 boats to race at Youth Nationals: Women’s 4 -, 4x, U17 8+ and U16 8+ as well as Men’s V8+, 2V8+, 4x and U17 2x. Athletes raced hard with 5 boats making it to the grand finals on Sunday. Results from the weekend are below:

Women’s 4- : 1st place

Men’s Varsity 8+ : 2nd place

Men’s 2V8+ : 4th place

Women’s U17 8+ : 6th place

Women’s U16 8+: 8th place

Women’s 4x: 10th place

Men’s U17 2x: 11th place

Men’s 4x: 23rd place
